Just maybe get some ribbons or headbands to fix it up , and make it look more presentable . or even look up some quick up do styles , you might actually like them . The messy short hairstyles always bring more attention to your face especially if you have strong facial features . So even a more extreme eye make up may help . & as far as your mom goes , you don’t have to tell her how you feel just use it as a future reference

i have about the same length hair as you describe, and mine is crazy curly. i use Herbal Essence Totally Twisted conditioner/shampoo and i use the conditioner as a ‘product’ too. after i get out of the shower i dry off my hair and brush it, then i slap in more conditioner before it is dry. its pretty simple, and i kind of just wing it for the amounts.

    hope this helps!

I’m sure a lot of people will be sad that you’ve let your lovely hair be cut off and thrown away, even though they will probably tell you it looks nice to make you feel better about it, or just stay quiet. Hip-length is very rare and special, since most people cut it off on a whim and don’t have the patience to grow it again. Salons are always keen to cut long hair short, since there is no money if your hair is perfect already.

I’m surprised if your mother hated your lovely hair so much she didn’t keep it short through all your childhood, so it would never get to the gorgeous length it was. You let her do this thing, so you knew what would happen, so it is probably most gracious not to mention it, but don’t let her do it again.

Best thing to get your lovely long hair back is to let it grow and grow, but you might have to trim it a little as it grows, or you will get split ends and it will stop growing, If you are lucky, in about 5 years it might be lovely again. While you are waiting, it helps to celebrate each time a 2 inch milestone is passed.
