Okay, so whenever I wear a foundation or powder that is one shade lighter than my skin tone, my face looks more radiant and glows. But when I use a foundation that is the EXACT shade as my skin tone, I end up looking dirty for some reason. It has always been this way with any foundation/powder, and trust me; I have used most of them. Why does this tend to happen? So yeah, I want to buy a new foundation that is one shade lighter than my skin tone, but I would love to hear your views first
Can you wear foundation that is one shade lighter than your original skin tone?

I don’t know why it does that but I have the same problem. Remember that your tone will darken a little for summer so keep your natural shade handy or you will really be able to tell the difference.
I am very pale, and I use a liquid foundation that is slightly darker than my skin tone. I promise, I glow, too! It may depend on your makeup. I prefer liquid because it is easier to get a nice glowy sheen, without looking oily. However, if you have oily skin a powder could be better. . . it depends on your skin type! Either way, there’s this great spray I use sometimes when I am not getting a glow (and it doesn’t matter whether you’re using powder or liquid) it’s by M. A. C. , called Pro Fix +. It’s clear and dries fast and it’s like a refreshing spritz for your face! Hope i helped.
Foundation usually is darker in the bottle, but then it gets lighter when you rub it into your skin.
Makeup is all about what works for the individual- some love a product whilst others hate it. For me if the foundation is even slightly out I look really weird- everyone always says that concealer should be a shade pr twp lighter than your real skin tone but when I di that it looks like I have some horrible skin disease- no joke! Your dilemma maybe because your skin has lighten undertones which come out when using a lighter foundation but are stifled when using the same shade- not sure, it’s just an idea. But seriously- stick with what you think is best, it probably is.

if it works for you then go ahead, if it turns out too light you can always darken it with bronzer
An fascinating dialogue is value comment. I think that you should write more on this matter, it won’t be a taboo subject however usually people are not sufficient to talk on such topics. To the next. Cheers
