I just colored my hair for the first time at a salon and the hairdresser informed me that I should never use regular shampoo/conditioner on colored hair. She sold me this pack for $50!
Is there a cheaper brand or is she just exaggerating and I can use regular shampoo?

there is cheaper products then that but it isnt nessecary. pop down to your local store and see if they have cheaper products.
Sounds like you just got ripped off for $50. It’s not an absolute thing to use with colored hair. My colored hair does just fine with normal products.
There are cheaper versions. It is necessary because it maintains your colour. I have friends who are salon experts. Try cheaper versions. You can buy hair dye that has shampoos with it.
