Heya. . I have lots of leather journals and photo albums etc I have purchased from India. . they are fantastic products but after handling them (especially the larger items) the brown dye rubs off quite easily on my hands and clothes.
What should I use to prevent this? Leather conditioner?

It is unlikely that you will stop this with a conditioner a protector like Ultra Protect may help. The leather as not been finished properly (often the case with leather from India) and so the aniline dyes used for the colouring of the leather are loose and come out easily. They really need a finish putting on them – you can get solvent or water based finishes which will help seal the colour.
