Can brown hair dye cover up bleached hair?

Ok I just dyed my hair different colors and now I don’t like it as much. I am going to let the color fade and then try to cover up the bleach. Will dying it back to the color I have in part of my hair make the bleached go away?
I know it is very damaging this is the first and last time I will do it.
I am grow out my nature color but it will take a while so that is why I want to dye it something close to my nature and just leave it alone.

  1. Bleach doesn’t just “go away”. It’s a decolorizer. It’s eating the pigment in your hair so once that pigment is gone, It’s not coming back. Go to a professional. They would have to “fill” your hair with a toner and then put a permanent color over it that is close to your natural color. Store-bought dyes cannot do this for you!

it will still be bleached, so you have to really condition it, but the dye should take better to the bleached hair.
if its really light, you might need a higher volume developer or use more of the developer than dye

Yes you can “cover” it but you need to be VERY careful. First since you decolorized (stripped the color) your hair will now be porus, so it will be more likely to be ashy. When choosing a brown make sure it is a warm brown so your hair wont look greenish or greyish.
Your best bet would be to go to a salon but if you can’t just stick to the advice. Also make sure you put the color on your natural hair color first because the bleached parts are just going to suck up that color really fast. (think of it as a plant that hasn’t had water for a long time)

this is called color correction i really think you should go to a professional you could end up looken like brittny spears after she shaved her head

If you’ve screwed up the bleach, I would definitely definitely NOT color over the bleach yourself. The bleach won’t fade–you’ve removed the color. If you add another layer of color over top of the bleach, you could have a disaster on your hands. I advise going to a professional to fix it.

However, I’m not advocating that you never color your own hair yourself. I’ve done my own at home for years-I’m not paying someone else to do something I can do myself-but when you start having bad results, I think it’s best to have someone with experience (a professional) fix it. If you try to fix it on your own, and that doesn’t work, either, at that point your hair will likely be too damaged to do anything else to, and you’ll have to live with it, or with a VERY short haircut ;-) until your hair grows out.
