I think your best bet will be to go speak to your hairstylist and they will help you. LEAVE IT TO THE PROFESSIONALS

i used sun in in high school with not problems well 2 years ago i used it all summer it lightened my hair loved it but my hair started breaking it ruined my hair i had hair down to my waist and had to cut it to chin lengnth please do not use sun in
Anything that lightens your hair will damage it. Sometimes the “natural” options are worse that chemicals.
Hair gets lighter by being “oxidized” aka bleached, either by sun, acid, hydrogen peroxide or actual bleach.
I would try adding some highlights, your hair will keep it’s silky texture, you only have to do it 4 times a year, it grows out natural looking.
Loreal makes a great kit for at home ~10 dollars. It has a giant mascara wand. You lift up strands of hair and paint them with the mixture and lay them back down. The stuff doesn’t spread around to the other hairs. It is an awsome kit because you can see exactly where the lighter strands will be. Do as many or few as you like.

Don’t worry so match about damaging hair if you take care of it – it will stay in good condition no meter what, I bleach my hair since 14 and I have wonderful hair and a lot of it (hair dresser complaining how much hair I have every time I cut it lol) I just taking care of it after I dye it.
