  1. Middle school, @13

  2. 13 because she’s almost going to high school

  3. I started wearing mascara and lip gloss at 14. And thats all i wear . And its usually the same for other girls, they start around 13/14/15.

  4. 13 that’s when I started

  5. Well I’m not a parent. . . But I think 8th grade. My mom didn’t let me wear it until then. And that’s good because I’m seeing so many littler kids wearing it, and I just think to myself “wow that girl is going to be a. . . not so virgin girl. . . when she is older. ” But 8th is also young enough to have a year of practice before high school.

  6. Platapus =D

    7th grade so about 13 :D

  7. I think that it’s the person’s choice, but I wouldn’t like to see a 10 year old wearing make up though. . . I think that as long as you’re comfortable wearing it and you are confident in yourself then you can choose

  8. 16 years old

  9. i started when i was like 16

  10. waterslides master

    7th grade 12 or 13

  11. I started experimenting in junior high (mascara, lip gloss etc. ) and began to wear full face makeup (foundation, concealer, eyeshadow etc. ) once I was in high school. It took me a while to get the hang of things. . I looked a hot mess in junior high lol but it is fun to see how far I’ve come(:

  12. I started at eleven because I got acne/spots early. I used a little bit of powder/foundation to cover them up. Then eventually did a little bit of eyeliner around twelve, then later the same year got into mascara. Go for a natural style about until about thirteen. The practical side of me wants to say thirteen to do anything at all, but I have to practice what I preach.

  13. I started wearing makeup for special occasions when I was about 12 or 13 and started wearing it on a daily basis when I started high school. A lot of girls I knew started in 7th or 8th grade. I would say a girl should start wearing makeup when she would prefer to wear it then not to, provided that she is at least 12 or 13. One bit of advice, however, is to not overdo it, especially before high school.

  14. Łīkē Ömg¡

Middle school. Just a hint of mascara. (personally I couldn’t care less about sheer lipgloss, wear it if you’re 3 lol idc)

  15. Wicked Wonderland

Start lightly when you’re 13 or 14. Any younger, just wear tinted lip gloss.

  16. For lip gloss and eyeshadow, 12
For lip gloss, eyeliner, mascara, and eyeshadow, 13
For full makeup including foundation and blush, 15

  17. I don’t really think there is an age limit because everyone is different. There could be a girl who is 13 who has started to get acne so she will use concealer and foundation to help with her skin, and then there could be a girl whose 18 with perfect skin who has never picked up a mascara wand before in her life.
I think too young it before ten. I think its fine to play with makeup and to have fun with it, but wearing it school and stuff before around 13 is too much. Even when you’re 13 sometimes its a little young, but again its all about comfort and confidence. Everyone has different confidence levels, and that kind of puts on the depending age.

  18. I had a cute kids’ style lip strawberry lip gloss when I was ten or eleven. I’d let my daughter have that if she wanted it. Don’t see the harm in that.

Twelve or thirteen for a very small amount of real makeup. I got acne at a young age, and I was SO relieved my mom let me have concealer and powder to cover it up. I remember how awful it felt to see my skin change like that, and I would never deny my daughter that help if she had a skin problem. If she wanted one special product, like mascara maybe, I’d let her have that too.

For other types of products, like lipstick, or multiple products/a makeup collection, she can wait until high school. I don’t want her to obsess about her appearance as a child, but I also want her to enjoy the art and self-expression that makeup can provide.

I don’t want her to look like a child hooker or have her be excessively concerned with the length of her eyelashes, but I do want her to have reasonable freedom to find her own look and do what she enjoys. That’s basically what my mother did with me, and I think I turned out fine.
