How to NOT get orange skin in makeup?

I love putting on my makeup but I always seem to get the wrong skin colour? I try using less then I try using more then I try using different powders and I try using different foundations and I always try to find colours that make my skin tone!
Maybe it’s the way I apply the makeup? Idknow. could someone please give me some tips? I have fair skin by the way!

  3. Try lighter colors, maybe your skin just has an orange tint.

  4. Try diffrent tOnes of couler

  5. Have you tried ‘Nude by nature’ powder?
I use it all the time to make sure my skin doesnt clog!
It works great and they have different shades!
It looks really natural and even when I accidentally put too much on it makes me looked tan not close to orange!

  6. Make sure you are applying it in natural light! This is a simple mistake made. When you put makeup on under a fluorescent light, you think you haven’t put enough on, so continue to put more on. Whereas if you put it on in natural light, eg. near a window, you will know when to stop :)

  7. When I first started wearing make up I went by what I was. . . “fair”. Boy was I wrong. Especially when I realized each makeup brand had varying shades of “fair”. I had a consultation and found out with one brand I was beige, another warm ivory, another just “medium” (i also have freckles).

You need to either buy a brand that you can easily return after trying it at home, or go to the cosmetics counter or a sephora or other make up store. When you find the brand you love, stick with it or you will forever be on the roller coaster ride of every changing skin color.

  8. go to a department store with all the different makeup brands and there will usually be a Makeup Rep at a counter and you can actually ask them to do your makeup for you and they’ll tell you which one would suit your skin and how to apply it properly, and seeing as their professionals, im sure their opinion would be much more trustworthy than anyone on yahoo answers!

Maybe you could try asking someone who works at a makeup store or a professional make up artist to help you find a shade that’s right for you and giving you tips on how to apply it as well.

Try powdering over with a light color

    Easy !
Liquid Foundation – Lightest colour possible
    Concealer – lightest colour
Powder- one that truley matches your skin
Blusher- brown and orange based, never pink based colours

Take your time choosing make up in the store, use the testers and find the right one.
