what do you call it when you heat up metal and then burn yourself to make pictures or letters?

what do you call it when you get some metal, heat it up, and press it against yourself to make pictures, letters, numbers etc etc etc. sometimes people get already made shaped metal like love hearts or flowers or what ever then heat them up. whats that called exactly??

it is called branding
farmers do it to cattle so their can be properly identified
when mixed with other farmers livestock

its called branding but i’ve seen it called scarification (though this is incorrect in my opinion, that’s where people use cuts instead of burns)
there’s a magazine in the UK called bizarre that often has articles in about this
