It’s part of a class action lawsuit involving some sort of price disagreement.
Thanks!
I just found it for you.
Now I’ll go too!
Most of them say TUES makeup sale so the good stuff is already gone, I bet, but it lasts through Jan 26
Here’s the info:
25 worth of free makeup in settlement of price-fixing case
History will be made Tuesday, and it’s not what you’re thinking. Yeah, there’s that Obama inaugural thing. But perhaps you didn’t know that also on Tuesday, many major department stores across the country will give you $25 worth of classy cosmetics for free.
This has nothing to do with designer perfume bailouts, a national dry skin-recovery program or the new administration’s commitment to longer, fuller lashes.
“It’s not an urban myth,” Nordstrom spokeswoman Julee Kraus assures. Rather, to settle a long-standing price-fixing lawsuit, the department stores will distribute a total of $175 million worth of designer cosmetics, creams, potions and scents. None of the companies admits wrongdoing.
In theory, it’s one freebie per person—retail value $25—and only if you bought a product from one of the involved manufacturers at one of the specified department stores between 1994 and 2003. But no proof is required.
Participating stores—locally they’re Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Carson Pirie Scott and Nordstrom—say you will have to sign a paper saying you’re eligible. Twenty products are involved, all of them packaged specifically for this giveaway in sizes not normally sold in stores. But they’re from manufacturers’ normal lines, including Chanel, Calvin Klein, Giorgio Armani, Guerlain, Ralph Lauren and Givenchy.
Only one per customer at each store while supplies last, no rain checks. The program continues through Jan. 26 or until the products run out.
