How can i apply bronzer on my face/neck/chest area so it gives the illusion of a tan and time in the sun?

Without covering my whole face and body with the stuff? Please – no sunbooths or self tanners. ill go with bronzer.

Just get a very large and very thick brush, made for bronzer, and then lightly apply to your chest.
Be careful to do it in light, and even layers, otherwise it will go blotchy.

I do it all the time, and it looks like a real tan

I know Covergirl makes a powder-like bronzer that is very easy to apply with just a reg. blush brush. . its pretty cheap too (around $3) and works very well, my friends just think i’m naturally tan all year (;

You either have to use a self tanner or a bronzing powder or solarium. No other choices.

just a little pressed powder bronzer around the sides of your face and a tad on your cheeks, none on your neck or body tho!
this is what i wear and, not to brag or anything, but i look really tan and not orange and fake!

Okay, first things first. You’re assuming it’s only got to do with the dark. Not true. It’s about contrast.

People look dark because they’re dark COMPARED to something else. So, while bronzer (not sparkly, please!) does work well, it’s about more than just the bronzer if you really want to look tan. You will need a compact bronzer, a big buffing brush, AND loose translucent/highlighting powder, which helps add a glow to the look and makes you appear darker through use of contrast.

First, do your makeup as usual. Next, apply the bronzer. Use a really bright white light and don’t put on too much. Easy does it. Then use another brush to put the highlighting powder on the high parts of your cheekbones, the hollow of your neck, your shoulderblades, and down your breastbone.

Finally, wear white or light-colored clothing to set off your skin if you have dark hair, and jet black if you’re blonde.

Voila.
