How much did your belly button piercing hurt?

ok, so my mom told me that in a year she would take me to go get my belly button pierced im going to be 15 1/2 then. But when i ask my friends how much theirs hurt, they tell me different things because they all have different pain tolerences. But i know i can do it, its just i feel REALLY nervous if i wait there too long before they do it, any suggestions?

It was not as bad as I had expected. What really bothered me was clothes rubbing against it for the first few weeks. You will want to wear elastic waist clothes or low rise pants for a while.

It hurt, it made me suck in my breath, but it was over so fast you don’t have a chance to react. . . and once it’s in it doesn’t really hurt, just a little sore.

I was 15 when I had mine done, and it didn’t hurt to actually have it done. It’s the days after when it’s healing and it hits your jeans or your shirt! Just make sure your piercer uses a sterile needle and your good! The guy who did mine was way cute so I think that helped with the pain factor too! Good luck hun!

    1st time not that much
    second quite a bit
3rd alot but then it was going through scar tissue.

just go through with it the pain is totally worth it not that there is that much pain 1st time. its just like someone pinching you really hard with sharp nails its over so quickly you wondre why you were so nervous in the first place.

make sure you have a light meal and plenty of water 1 – 2 hours before as this will keep your glucose levels up which means you will be able to handle the pain much better and make sure you take deep relaxing breaths, if you concentrate on your breathing it will take your mind off the piercing.

I have had a total of 15 piercings – I would rank the belly button in the middle on the pain scale. The worst was my nose – that hurt like a son of a gun. The least was my ear lobes. Just make sure you keep it clean and you should be fine. If you work yourself up about it, you will just make it worse for yourself.

Well. . I did mine myself when I was 12 years old. . . . it barely hurt.

  7. I didn’t even feel it. Im not if all piercists do it but they sprayed my bellybutton with ice to numb it first. I found it hurt after, especially if i caught it on something. Be careful, belly button piercings are prone to infection so keep the area well cleaned.

I am a giant baby when it comes to pain. But when I got mine done it was just alot of pain for 2 seconds when the needle went through and then it was fine, just a little numb. Even afterwards in the healing process it didn’t really hurt, only once when I leaned against a countertop and it hit right on my bellybutton.

  9. mine didn’t hurt at all but i was told to eat something 1st and have a hot drink – also you keep it very clean – and don’t catch it on anything!! i covered mine at night with a soft hankercheif good luck it’ll be worth it

Don’t do it and there’s no pain what’s the point anyway?

when i lost my leg in a freak car accident it was smarting a bit so a small piercing in the navel will not hurt at all

I did mine 2 times at different shops. Mine didn’t bother me at all. My roommate did it and she passed out and was light headed. It depends on the pain of YOU. You might make an appointment to go in and do it, so that you aren’t sitting around too long

It was a weird sensation but I wouldn’t say it was painful.
The healing process took a little longer than I expected but all was fine after a few weeks, just be sure to keep the area clean to avoid any kinds of infection.

Like you already know, everyone has a different pain tolerance so Im afraid you will only know when you get it done.
Im a bit iof a wuss when it comes to pain and had my belly done at 18.
To be honest, it was nowhere near as bad as I thought! You have to lie in a chair so you dont have to look if you dont want, and they sort of ‘clamp’ your skin before they pierce it. For me, that was the most painful bit. They will then numb your skin with a mild anasthetic, and when the needle goes through you can feel something going on down there, but more of a stinging rather than huge pain.
After you have it done, it will probably take months to heal and may feel very tender for a while, I remember even sitting or standing was pretty painful for weeks, so be prepared for that. Also you have to take really good care of it as to avoid nasty infections which can be gross!
But seriously, its not that painful. I had my nose done the week after, most people agree thats much more painful and I coped well even though like I said, Im a wuss!
If its something you have REALLY thought about and want to get done, go for it!- Youll be in and out of the parlour within minutes and will be wondering what all the fuss is about I promise!
    xx

i got my belly button pierced when i was 15ish (7yrs ago maybe) – can brely remeber how it felt, but i definately don’t remeber it being particularly painful, so it probably wasn’t!!! then again, having a piecing done & whether it’ll hurt etc if at all, depends largely on where you have it done (some areas on your body are particularly more sensitive to pain than other areas), how old you are, whther or not you have a high pain threshold or not, etc. . .
sometimes, a piercing doesn’t necessarily ‘hurt’ a lot,. . . for example – i had my nose pierced two years ago & it didn’t ‘hurt’. . . just felt an initial tingly sensation and also made my eyes water.
bear in mind though, that everyone’s different & no matter whether any piercing you have done at the times hurts, or how much – after a while, any numbing, soreness, etc may wear off/feel worse, etc
    all depends.
    hope this helps x
