How long does it take for the swelling to go down on a new tongue piercing?

I just wanted to know, from people’s real life experiences, how long the swelling in new tongue piercings has taken to go down. Also, are there any side effects to drinking alcohol in the first few days of healing? I’ve read numerous articles about these things, but they’re quite conflicting ><
Any help would be greatly appreciated ^_^

Pages:
  1. Drinking Alcohol in the first few days of that piercing will probably irritate the $h!t out of it.

  2. mine only swelled up for not even a week. it you eat ise and popsicles, and cold things like that, it will really help with the swelling.

& alot of people say your not supposed to drink alchohol after but, i did because it was my birthday & nothing happened to me, but everybodys different too, so.

  3. Ive got 4 in my tongue. The first ones i got went through the muscle (venoms) and they swelled up for about 2 weeks! When i got my webbing done it was fine. No swelling at all. About 3 weeks ago i got one in the middle of my tongue and that didnt swell up that much. It was normal after one week and i could eat fine.
With the alcohol i would wait at least 5 days if you can. But if you must drink then make sure you wash your mouth out well afterwards. If you start to get white stuff comming out of the piercing then stop with the alcohol.

    Good luck :)
