I clean it almost daily with soap or alcohol pads, but it only stops smelling for a short time. I bought a new one and it’s still doing it. Help, I can’t stand the smell but don’t want to lose my piercing!!
Pages:I’ve had my nose pierced for a year and it recently started to smell. What can I do to make it stop stinking?

Sounds like it is infected. . . . I would get it checked out.
if i were you, i would go to the place you got it done and tell them what’s going on. maybe they’ve had the same problem before. also – it might be infected. (even if you clean it everyday) if the people/person who pierced it doesn’t know what’s up – go to a doctor.
The smell is perfectly normal. What happens is that after your piercing heals, skin cells inside continue to slough off. That’s what you smell. All you can do about it is keep it clean. When you wash your face or take a shower, get it soapy and rotate your jewelry.
(This smell happens with all piercings, not just noses. It can be pretty funky, I admit. )
disinfectant made especially for nose piercings. Infection can cause a stink. Literally! Keep cleaning asap.
Your “cleaning” is all wrong.
You want to use warm salt water and put it over your piercing and blow into it. Or, you can use H2Ocean.
pefectly normal. . i had that problem with mine for awhile to and I thought maybe it was the jewelry that I was buying. . . nope it wasn’t. . eventually the smell just went away. . i believe its from your nose healing. . . .
don’t worry no one else can smell it i wouldn’t think
you need to go to a doctor. that’s not good and it’s probably infected.
also you could try cleaning it with tea-tree oil. its very good on peircings!
I used to have my nostril pierced and never had this problem but I have my ears pierced since I was 5 and they do this too. The smell can be coming from the skin that you are producing building up on the jewelry and your nose. I found that the best way to get rid of this is to clean with peroxide once per week. it will boil away all the dead skin from the jewelry and your piercing. You have to do it atleast once a week or the smell will come back. Make sure you use a Q tip and clean the inside as well but only use a small amount and try not to sniff it into your nose too much.
If it continues see a Doctor. In the meantime use a Q tip with Hydrogen Peroxide in side the nose apply to the piercing hole. Always soak your earring in alcohol a few minutes before wearing.
