Do I need to have my stencil with me when I get a tattoo or can I ask my artist to design one for me?

I’m trying to get my first tattoo and I know what I want but there’s no way I can design it myself.
If I go into a shop would an artist be able to help me design one or do I need to find an artist to whip one up?

It’s helpful if you have some sort of outline or stencil of what you want. . . . but they are artists and can usually draw one up for you. . . . It’s going on your body, not thiers so take the steps nessecary to make sure it’s what YOU want ;) Sink that ink!

As long as you have a rough idea of what you want, the artist should be able to draw you something. Or, in order to make sure you get what you want, you could try to find someone to draw you a sketch first. Good luck!

  3. You can definitely go into the shop and have the artist help you. That’s what they do! Just go in and talk to the artist who will be doing it, tell them what you’re wanting and any ideas you have and they will be able to help you and draw something up for you!

  4. go up to the tattoo artist,, they usually draw the piece of art on paper before they tattoo it on you. . plus they are ARTIST, that’s what they do draw, paper or skin or wall. .

  5. I would most definately bring in pictures of what you want and then ask the artist to spend time coming up with an all original peice. Thats kind if what I did with my first tattoo. It will help you appreciate it more.

If you have a picture of something like it, that would be helpful. But the artist will ask you what you want and draw something up and ask if you like it, change it to the way you like (if you didn’t like something the first time), then when you like it put it on the paper with the purple ink.
